Indigenous HOOPS League X HBC

Indigenous Hoops League is proud to partner with HBC Event Services, a housing agency with a nationwide reputation for excellence in managing travel for sports events. HBC Event Services provides an easy way for you to book your hotel rooms with our partnered hotels at the best rates. These rates are lower than their best available rate and usually include breakfast for your team.

 This is a STAY TO SAVE tournament.  All non-commuting teams participating in the tournament HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to make all hotel accommodations using our tournament housing services. Please do not call the hotels directly. You must book through the reservation link below. We appreciate your support as these partnered hotels assist in sponsoring our event.

 

  Finally, you have the ability to purchase a Travel Protection Plan with up to 100% for covered cancellations reasons as well as a Cancel for Any Reason benefit of 75% coverage of your unused non-refundable prepaid expenses for travel arrangements you paid for your trip, including the event registration costs.

About Us

The Indigenous HOOPS League is a community-driven basketball league dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and cultural pride among Indigenous youth. Our mission is to provide a supportive and inclusive environment where young athletes can develop their skills, build confidence, and connect with their heritage. Through our league, we celebrate the rich traditions and values of Indigenous communities, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment. Join us in supporting the next generation of Indigenous leaders, both on and off the court.

Increased Participation:

The Indigenous Hoops League has seen growth in participation, with the league expanding from a local program to a nationwide initiative.

New Programs and Initiatives:

The founders of Indigenous HOOPS have also established other programs, such as Unity Basketball, to support Indigenous youth and mental health.

Tournaments and Events:

The league has organized various events, including the annual E.P.I.C. Tournament, which has seen an increase in team registrations.

Community Impact:

Indigenous HOOPS has positively impacted the Native American community, providing a platform for youth to showcase their talents, develop life skills, and build self-esteem.

Mental Health Support:

The league has also emphasized the importance of mental health, recognizing the need for support and resources, especially among Native American youth.

Founder's Vision:

The founders, DeShawn and Sharmane Joseph, aim to create a sense of belonging among participants and provide opportunities for Indigenous youth to succeed in sports and life.
